Despite their three nominations, Arctic Monkeys are still deliberating whether or not to attend the Brit Awards. The indecision is said to be down to comments Alex Turner made about the reformed Take That at the 2006 Q Awards when he described the old boy band as "a load of bollocks."
Oh, and the fact that Take That and their four nominations (two of which - Best British Group and Best British Album - clash with t'Monkeys) may well storm it at the ceremony at Earls Court next month.
However, our old friend, the "source close to the band" told The Mirror that an invite to an aftershow party by Sir Macca Thumbsaloft (aka the recipient of this year's Outstanding Contribution gong, Paul McCartney) may well change their minds.
Quite.
Elsewhere in related Brits news, the in-no-way-at-all-nominated Pigeon Detectives have had there say on the impending awards. Speaking to the Daily Star, vocalist Matt Bowman complained:
"I think they're a load of rubbish. I'm really glad Arctic Monkeys and Kaiser Chiefs are up for an award this year, but guitar music seems to be out of favour again with the organisers".
