Roxy Bible - 1.0 Starting a Band

This should be the easy part, as far as I can see everyone wants to be in a band. Thing is that if you get the right 3, 4 or 5 person combination you can, with a lot of work, make something really amazing. Remember this though, because everyone is in a band, the competition is higher than in any other business, this is not meant to discourage, just be realistic. What I want to do over the 10 steps is turn you into a slick-fighting machine. But please do realise that it takes time to be a great band and a lot of listening and very hard work.

One obvious thing when you start out is to help the weaker members with encouragement. If there are 4 of you in a band then 1 is bound to be less musically proficient. With encouragement that member will improve, but if they are made to feel like the weak link they won’t improve & will probably leave. So instead of getting frustrated because they cant find b-flat in two seconds, be patient.

Rehearse all the time, I mean all the bleeding time. Use all your money to rehearse. Rehearse after school or work, rehearse at home. Rehearse in pairs if you can't all get together. Rehearse.
