FACT. A record deal is not the wholly grail. The wholly grail is making a great album, being signed affords you the opportunity to have a crack at that. Put it in context and make sure you don't get over excited because you have slaved for six years and now have a record deal. Remember now is where the real work begins and this is where you really have to make the right choices. On the same tip don't be pig headed when talking about your music with labels. If you have chosen the right label then they will know their stuff. That's when "hopefully" they will really start to use their expertise to further your project. On top of that it simply makes everybody feel part of something if they have input into the most important part of this process "the songs" after all, it is all about the songs... did i mention it was all about the songs?
